Press intern Emily shows Kingdom of Style around Scottish Ballet's wardrobe
On Thursday 3rd December, we had a very special visit to the wardrobe department as two of the UK’s most renowned fashion bloggers came to learn about the magical world of Scottish Ballet costumes.
Michelle and Marie are Scotland’s most stylish blogging pair and they visited the Tramway on Thursday morning for a special tour of the wardrobe department and costume archive by Caro Harkness, Head of Wardrobe.

Michelle and Marie co-write the renowned fashion blog Kingdom of Style and we thought that they would appreciate a close up look at the beautifully crafted costumes which are kept in a special room in Scottish Ballet’s new home at the Tramway.
Here are some photos from the day and some behind the scenes snaps of the costumes which made the girls literally speechless.
Caro was very informative and answered all their questions about the history of the costumes and how they are made. Caro also explained the concept and inspiration behind each garment.

It really is fascinating to see the costumes close up, you can really see how much skill and craft has gone in to making each garment.

The Nutcracker costumes were fascinating to look at too. Drosselmeyer’s coat covered in blue feathers is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.
